The Holidays

Alright so I know I've been horrible about updating... but I've been a little busy lately... I can't imagine why! I feel like I'm constantly feeding Silas, so any free minute that I have isn't used to update my blog. So anyways, Silas had his first Christmas and he was so excited! haha... actually, he slept the whole time so he wasn't even awake to open his gifts. On Christmas day we went to my dad's parents house. We had a great time and my cousins and aunt and uncle got to see Silas for the first time. On Saturday we went to my mom's brothers house and spent time with that side of the family for Christmas. We had a great time there as well... and it was really nice because my grandmother got to hold Silas for a really long time. She's been sick lately and wasn't able to come to the hospital when Silas was born so I know that she really enjoyed the time with him on Saturday.

Silas is growing so fast... when he was born he weighed 8 lbs 7 oz and was 21 inches long. A week ago he went to the doctor and now he weighs 9 lbs 12 oz and is 24 inces long! Me and Melinda looked that up and he is off the charts in length! He's gonna be a tall boy... and hopefully an athlete! :) It's crazy how fast they grow up... I'm just trying to enjoy every moment.

Last night Silas slept in his crib in his room for the first time. He finally went to sleep around 12 and didn't wake up until 4:45... so he slept for quite a while! Usually he wakes up every 3 hours... so the extra hour or so was really nice!

Alright well I guess I need to get some things done now! I got a new camera for Christmas so I've been pretty picture happy lately! So I put quite a few on here... and there are also a few of my niece Arden. So enjoy! :)

Update :)... and some pictures

Ok so I stole these pictures from my sister's blog. I really haven't been good about taking pictures. And when I do take pictures, I take a long time to put them on the computer. So... here are just a few for now. I'll really try to start taking more pictures!

Things are going really well with Silas. He's such a good baby! He's awake A LOT for a newborn. Yesterday he was awake from 11:00-3:30 straight... he didn't even take a little snooze! And when he finally did snooze, it wasn't for very long. So I thought that since he was awake so much during the day, maybe he'd go to sleep early last night and possibly even sleep for longer periods of time without waking up to eat. Well... that was wrong. Haha! That's what I get for getting my hopes up! He still didn't go to sleep until about 11 last night and he woke up to eat around 2 and then around 5. So things didn't work out quite how I would have liked but that's ok. He's just too cute and sweet... I can't even get frustrated with his wanting to eat all of the time!

Today me and Melinda went to Target and the mall and took the little munchkins with us. They were so good... and slept most of the time, so that was good. Silas tends to want to eat about every hour when he's awake, so it's best he stays asleep when we're out and about. Anyways, that's all I've got for now... I promise I'm going to try and do better with the pictures!

Things are going well here at home... Silas has been a good baby so far! I feel so lucky to have this little man in my life... he is such a blessing. I'm also lucky to have awesome parents that have been such a HUGE help and I'm sure they will continue to be. Silas loves my mom and Tuck Tuck! He especially loves taking extremely long naps while Tuck Tuck is holding him. And he loves for mom to change his dirty diapers! :) haha... Or I'm trying to convince her of that anyways. Today I had a horrible headache and mom totally took care of Silas so that I could go to sleep to help the headache go away. She has been a great help! Please still keep us in your prayers, as we still have a lot of adjusting to do! :)

Update on Silas

Hey everybody! This is April... just wanted to give an update on Silas. He's doing great! And he's a really good looking baby! He's eating well, and he's not crying as much... which is nice, because last night I wasn't sure he was going to ever stop. He was awake from the time he was born yesterday until 12 last night... I never thought he was going to go to sleep, but he did when the nurse took him to the nursery. Then after she brought him to be fed in the middle of the night, he went right back to sleep and slept well the rest of the night. :) Right now he's asleep... "Tuck Tuck" (my dad) is holding him so he's pretty comfy. Anyways, I'll put up some more pictures in a little while. I'm about to eat lunch and then we'll do a photoshoot! :) Thanks for thinking about me and praying for me! Yesterday was a little rough, but I made it through it! :)

Baby Silas Is Here!!!

Baby Silas has made his grand debut into the world. He weighs 8lbs. 7oz. and is 21 inches long. He is very alert and letting us all know he is here with his wonderful "singing" (aka crying). Mommie April is doing well, just very exhausted from all the hard work she just went through. Here's a few pictures for your enjoyment!

April is about to start pushing--she is still in quite a bit of pain so please pray that the delivery goes very quickly. I will update with pictures as soon as I have some!

Still Waiting...

No baby yet. She is almost to a 10, they will be checking her again shortly. Please keep praying for her though--she's in quite a bit of pain, even with the epidural. The Dr. has come in twice to give her additional medicine but it isn't working like she would want it to. But she is definitely a trooper--I'm not sure I could have done it like she is :) Anyhow, we should have a baby very soon--for April's sake, I hope we do! More to come soon...

The Big Day!

So the big day has finally arrived and April is a trooper! She just got her epidural and at first it wasn't working full force, but the anesthesiologist came back and administered some additional medicine and she is now feeling much better! She is 3cm so hopefully she will be at 10 soon! More updates to come--stay tuned!

Anxiously waiting...

So tomorrow is the big day... I'm about to get ready for bed and I'm beginning to get very nervous. It's crazy that it's finally here... I mean, I knew it was coming, but it just hit me that he's coming TOMORROW! Wow! I'm very excited for him to be here... I'm just a little nervous about the delivery part. I'm not even sure why I'm nervous about that because Melinda had a pretty easy delivery with Arden... but then again, our entire pregnancies were completely different! Anyways, just please keep me in your prayers and I can't wait to update everybody tomorrow!

Inducing Wednesday

Ok... so he didn't put me in the hospital today... I'm still only dilated to one, but he said the baby is very low. He scheduled to induce me on Wednesday unless I just happen to naturally go before then. I'm ok with Wednesday... my main thing was that I wanted him to be the one to deliver and he said that since it's scheduled, he will be the doctor there! So that was good news. Just keep me in your prayers... if anything changes, I will definitely be updating! :)

Earlier doctor's appointment

Ok... so my appointment was supposed to be at 2:30 today... but I just called and got it rescheduled to 10:00. My belly is empty... no food since last night just in case Dr. Rushing goes ahead and puts me in the hospital! yay! Ok... so that's all... I'll definitely be reposting after my appointment, which will be within the next few hours!
